My favorite tradition! My last tradition! All the feelings! Thankful to have spent the day with friends, family (yes, my parents and grandmother came!), alums, and the Bryn Mawr community. (Also thankful it was warm and did not rain.) Continue reading

FUCS: Rico Nasty // Eu1ogy
To round off my weekend of fun before Sunday’s homework duties call me, I went to the FUCS show at Haverford on Saturday night. The performers were Eu1ogy and Rico Nasty, both up and coming artists whom I have never heard of before. This was the first FUCS show of the Spring semester, and I was glad I made it out to enjoy my numbered free college concerts before I graduate. Continue reading
Ms. Lisa Fischer and Grand Baton
Legendary singer and 2-time Grammy winner Lisa Fischer graced Bryn Mawr College two times this week. First was on the movie screen in the documentary “20 Feet From Stardom” showing hosted by the Provost’s Office and the Sociology Department on Thursday December 1. Second was on the Goodhart McPherson mainstage with her band Grand Baton playing as part of the Bryn Mawr Performing Arts Series on Saturday December 3. Continue reading
FUCS Show: Screaming Females
Also on Friday December 2nd was the last Haverford Fords United Concert Series (FUCS) show of the year. The lineup featured Mannequin Pussy and Screaming Females and was held in Lunt basement. Joy and I attended the Bryn Mawr Senior Cocktails before going to FUCS, so we missed Mannequin Pussy’s performance. We did manage to catch and stay for the entire Screaming Females set. Continue reading
Japanese Breakfast Concert
Mawrters in the Philadelphia area gathered at Everybody Hits last Friday October 7 for a special concert that night. Michelle Zauner ’11, known as Japanese Breakfast, headlined the sold out concert which also included Swanning and Mercury Girls. This date also coincided with the start of our Fall Break, so we had even more of a reason to go out to Philly and have fun (and not think about school). Continue reading
College Night at The Philadelphia Orchestra
Tonight, my two roommates and I attended the Free College Night Concert at the Kimmel Center featuring The Philadelphia Orchestra. Every year, The Philadelphia Orchestra hosts this event to introduce more young adults to the world-class music scene in Philadelphia. Attendees were encouraged to dress up and take pictures in their makeshift photo booth before the concert started at 8pm. The Philadelphia Orchestra performed Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique. A light dessert reception party with a rock band followed. Continue reading
All Access Philadelphia Concert
Last Saturday night, I attended All Access Philadelphia at the Electric Factory, a free concert supporting abortion rights and access. The event combined live performances and DJ sets with educational facts about abortion and personal story video clips. There were even nonprofit organizations like Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and Women’s Medical Fund where concert goers could sign up to volunteer or learn more about women’s reproductive health policy. The lineup included Rye Rye, Tunde Olaniran, Rocky Rivera, Joie Kathos, and Pinkwash with DJ sets by DJ Diamond Kuts, DJ NiiLO (Bryn Mawr alum), DJ Kash. Continue reading
Bi-Co Chamber Music Concert
Last Tuesday night was one of the Bi-Co Music Department’s Chamber Music Concerts. A couple of my friends were performing, so I attended in support. I also enjoy chamber music, having been a clarinetist active in bands, orchestra, and chamber music prior to college. Continue reading
A Day in Philly: Federal Donuts, Philadelphia Orchestra & Trader Joe’s
Last Friday April 22, my friend Joy Angelica Chan (BMC ’17) took me out to spend the day in Philly. We both don’t have classes on Friday. Joy was treating me to the Philadelphia Orchestra as a belated birthday gift. We also met up with our friend Sam (BMC ’15) and did some last minute gifts shopping for the Spring Dance Concert. Continue reading
Bi-Co Orchestra Spring Concert
There’s nothing like a Friday night and classical music! Tonight was the Bi-Co Orchestra concert at Haverford’s Marshall Auditorium. The program featured Dvorak’s Violin Concerto in A Minor, Op. 53 and Brahms Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98. Continue reading
