On Saturday May 13, I graduated! It’s hard to believe that four years of Bryn Mawr have gone by so fast. Sadly, it rained on graduation, but the ceremony was still held outside under the tent on Merion Green and all 332 of us undergrad seniors graduated.

Senior Week
This post is way overdue, but the past week leading up to graduation was Senior Week — a time for the seniors to celebrate their end of finals and last few days at the college. Our class presidents Priyanka and Hannah planned a week full of fun activities and trips. Senior Week also consists of some unique Bryn Mawr traditions. I had a lot of fun spending time with my friends and my fellow classmates. Continue reading
Aspen Santa Fe Ballet
On Sunday, my friend Joy’17 and I went to see the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet at the Prince Theater in Philadelphia. We were blown away by the theatrical expression, artistry, and technique these dancers brought to the stage!
The Saturday Before May Day
On this lovely Saturday before May Day, I spent the day with some of my closest Bryn Mawr friends in Ardmore, on campus, and in Philly. Also, the wonderful tradition of May Day gifting. Continue reading
My Last Day of Class
My last class of my undergraduate career: Anatomy and Physiology 9-10am, Park 127. It did not feel like an ending to anything yet because I still had 3 assignments to hand in later that day: Microbio summary on my microbe P. shermanii, Physics problem set, and an exercise physiology lab for A & P. On top of that, I had my usual internship at Center for Asian Health. Continue reading
Temple Health Fest
On Saturday April 22, Temple University Hospital hosted a Health Festival in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the hospital. There were free health screenings, giveaways, food, activities, and more. I volunteered on behalf of the Center for Asian Health which provided blood pressure screenings, BMI measurements, and Type 2 diabetes risk tests.
Weekend Shenanigans
This post is a culmination of going out to Philadelphia over the weekend of Friday April 14 – Saturday April 15. With so little time left in undergrad and uncertainty of where I’ll end up postgrad (NYC? Philly? Wisconsin? Connecticut?), there’s no time better than now to explore Philadelphia! Thank you to my shared monthly SEPTA pass and my close Mawrter friends for all the fun times (and all the ups and downs of college). Continue reading
AMF & Friends Happy Hour
Yesterday after my internship at Center for Asian Health, I attended a Happy Hour event hosted by Asian Mosaic Fund (AMF). I was invited to an AMF gathering last semester and liked the people there. Aside from philanthropic giving, I want to get more involved and connect with the Asian American community in Philadelphia. The happy hour was hosted at Johnnie Walker Lounge in Chinatown Square, and attendees got to learn more about AMF and enjoy discounts on food and drinks. The event also highlighted the work of past grantee organization Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation (PCDC). Continue reading
Cynthia Gouw
Cynthia Gouw, actress and TV news anchor, made a visit to the Greater Philadelphia Cantonese Academy at Rosemont College on Saturday April 8 to talk about her life and career. I happen to have a friend (non-Bryn Mawr) who takes Cantonese classes there, and she informed me of the event. Curious to learn more about Gouw and the neighboring Rosemont, I rode my scooter out to listen and explore. Continue reading
SEAMAAC’s 33rd Annual Board Meeting
Last night was SEAMAAC’s 33rd Annual Board Meeting and Dinner at Dim Sum House. Staff, board members, and a few guests celebrated the nonprofit’s accomplishments of 2016 working with and expanding their social services programs in South Philly. My friend and I were invited as guests. Continue reading
